Angela Casey

Angela has extensive experience with capacity litigation, power of attorney disputes, dependant support claims, will challenges, and will interpretation proceedings. She routinely acts as agent lawyer for the Children's Lawyer in contentious litigation. Having spent 9 years of practice at Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP, she also has extensive experience litigating commercial and shareholder disputes, as well as fraud actions. She has appeared before the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Divisional Court, and several administrative tribunals.

Angela also assists trust companies, estate trustees, and individuals with applications to pass accounts, applications for the Court's advice and direction, as well as applications to vary trusts, guardianship applications, and applications for partition and sale. In addition, she provides advice to guardians of property, attorneys for property and estate trustees regarding estate administration.

Angela has authored a number of articles on estate related topics, including trustee's privilege, powers of attorney and passing of account applications. She has also published case comments in OBA's Deadbeat and the Estates and Trusts Pensions Journal. She is a regular blogger on allaboutestates.ca.
