Diane Vieira

Diane A. Vieira is a partner at de VRIES LITIGATION LLP.  Prior to joining de VRIES LITIGATION LLP, Diane articled at the Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee where she gained experience in estate, charity and capacity law. Diane’s practice areas include will challenges, guardianship applications, power of attorney proceedings, passing of accounts applications, administrations of complex estates, and dependant support claims.

Diane obtained her law degree from Queen’s University after completing an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto.  Diane also holds an Certificate in Elder Law from Osgoode Hall Law School.  She is a member of the Advocates’ Society, and the Toronto Lawyers Association and a member of the Ontario Bar Association’s Elder Law Executive. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2006.

Diane has chaired various continuing legal education programs regarding estate, trust and capacity matters and is a regular contributor to the popular estate blog site allaboutestates.ca. Recently, she was interviewed by Canadian Lawyer Magazine and chaired an OBA Program on Elder Law and Cultural Competency.

Since 2021, Diane has been recognized by Best Lawyers Canada in the area of trusts and estates.
