Probate
Most estates need to be probated i.e. a certificate of appointment of estate trustee with or without a will needs to be issued by the court. In practice, such a certificate gives the estate trustee, or executor, the authority to administer the estate. Most financial institutions and insurance companies will require a notarial copy of the certificate of appointment of estate trustee before they will allow an estate trustee to access or receive funds. We can help draft and file an application for an appointment of estate trustee with or without a Will. We can also help with the administration of an estate, including collecting, liquidating and disbursing the estate assets, advertising for creditors, locating missing or lost beneficiaries, etc.
